Wide range of ThermoWood at Stevens Wood
ThermoWood wood species
We offer ThermoWood® made from European softwood (spruce and pine) and other woods such as Radiata Pine, Ash, Poplar, Tulipwood and Ayous.
ThermoWood applications
The heating process makes the wood more durable, dimensionally stable and resistant to weathering, wood rot, mold or damage from wood-eating insects. This makes ThermoWood suitable for a variety of outdoor applications.
ThermoWood decking boards
Terrace boards must withstand weather and wind. ThermoWood is as durable as tropical hardwood, but more economical and produced in a more environmentally friendly way.
ThermoWood cladding
Wood gives your facade a natural, elegant look. ThermoWood planchets are resistant to moisture, rot and temperature fluctuations due to thermal treatment.
ThermoWood fence
ThermoWood is durable, dimensionally stable and resistant to weather and wind. Thanks to its natural look, it fits perfectly in any garden, with low maintenance.
ThermoWood gazebo
With ThermoWood, you choose a natural, warm look that will last for years. The wood does not warp and ages evenly, ideal for outdoor applications.
ThermoWood carport
ThermoWood withstands moisture, sun and temperature changes without losing its stability. This keeps your carport sturdy and aesthetic, year after year.
ThermoWood sauna
ThermoWood is resin-free, low-odor and resistant to high temperatures. This makes it a safe and comfortable choice for use in saunas.
ThermoWood, the sustainable wood choice
ThermoWood pine and spruce is an environmentally friendly alternative to tropical hardwood. This is because it is made from wood from sustainably managed forests of local origin and from trees that regrow faster. Thus, tropical primary forests are spared.
Various labels also demonstrate ThermoWood’s sustainability. The European CE label relates to health and environmental protection, among other things. In turn, the PEFC label and the FSC label guarantee that ThermoWood meets the requirements for responsible and sustainable forest management.
ThermoWood® has a very high insulation capacity, especially compared to untreated wood. It is therefore very suitable for passive housing construction. Finally, the wood is chemical-free, so you recycle it without problems after use.
Benefits of ThermoWood
ThermoWood versus untreated wood
Untreated wood warps, cracks or rots faster when exposed to wind and weather. It also discolors irregularly. ThermoWood retains its shape, is better protected against fungi and insects and ages evenly. It also scores better in terms of maintenance. ThermoWood requires less post-treatment and therefore lasts longer.
- 23% better insulation capacity
- Longer lifespan
- More resistant to wood rot
- Less swelling and shrinkage
- Better shape stability
- Less moisture absorption
ThermoWood versus tropical hardwood
Tropical hardwood is imported from the other side of the world. As a result, it has a large carbon footprint and a hefty price tag. For ThermoWood pine and spruce, we use fast-growing woods from European, sustainably managed forests. In addition, ThermoWood is lighter and therefore easier to install than hardwood.
- Cheaper
- More environmentally friendly
- Lighter
- Easier to place
- FSC or PEFC certified
- From sustainably managed forests
